Solo Project
I did the majority of this project on my own. I got help recording my vocals for this video and found two people to puppeteer the characters. I made the puppets that were used to create the silhouettes, photographed them, and edited the images together with the music.
I first heard Oscar Wilde's The Nightingale and the Rose as a little girl and the story stuck with me through adulthood. As a Vocal student in university, I performed Rimsky-Korsakov's song of the same name. This song made me tear up, just like the original story. I decided to record my performance and create this experimental film. It's beautiful and melancholic. I hope you will love the result as much as I do.
